Against the Grain
Against the Grain
Set routines and rhythms,We frown and bit our lipsWhen interruptions spring to lifeAnd our whole world jumps back flips.Anger and defensiveness rise up–Break the rules, we care not,So we take the cakeThe battles never fought.Resentment reigns in the land,Our hearts clouded with pain,Yet we desire a difference–New ways to go against the grain.Yes, listen now to His words–Listen to Papa’s sweet voiceOf how He loves you,And quiets the enemy’s noise. How He loves, how He loves,To call you daughters and sons–To name you Adored, Beloved,And pour His breath by the tons.Oh, Brothers and Sisters, listen close,God wishes to speak again and again,But we must open our heartsTo walk more against the grain!~By: A.J.
