Abscond with Me (NaPoWriMo #20)

Abscond with Me (NaPoWriMo #20)

Abscond upwind, my Beloved,
A miraculous endeavor
To gaze within your eyes
And feel the warmth of your hand,
To gather you into my arms,
Oh what a day!
No rodomontade!
A day I would never squander,
Even in most dunderhead moments
I will focus my cyclops windows
Towards the flights of the owl~
A wisdom nonpareil,
A Love twice elusive,
Yet Mercurial beats swim,
Swim forever infinite
For you and the willowy svelte
Of your dreams and desires.
I cannot bear the thought
Of Life curled in the gutter
From the loss of Love’s salt,
An artillery to the soul.
Bilious ghosts of failure
Creep within any ego
To truffle the quahog~
I mean trifle with a generator
For cowbid seaweed cheese…
No, no, no!
My Adored one,
What I meant to expound,
Abscond with me
To the depths of His Heart,
His Love and Grace,
For within such parameters
Two stay one, so Miraculous.

Interested? (NaPoWriMo #19)

Interested? (NaPoWriMo #19)

On thrice,
On the rise
A mind filled with thoughts
I need a listener
Interested?
I can listen back
And our thoughts
We can share
Just to clear our minds
For perspective,
For hope,
For prayer
Not a joke!
Interested?
In thoughts of wander,
Wonder what we can come up with
And offer each other
A moment’s reprieve
From the tears
Built up
Inside~
Interested?

Heart Lines Splay the Night

Heart Lines Splay the Night (NaPoWriMo #18)

Heart Lines Splay the Night
     When the pulsation kicks in
And the dull ache takes over~
Fear and depression try to buffet me
A simple course for their joy
               I will not give in!
     I will not be afraid!
I trust Father, even when I know not why
Oh! The dull echo of a sullen Love,
I must fight against the waves
Regardless of my lungs and breath!
Never give in! Never lose Hope!
Sweet fever pitch, tar and feathers
To the inner cogs of my soul
I claw and I claw, but
                    The sealed walls don’t budge
             Not even a smidgen!
     Light beckons, His voice gentle~
              ” Trust me.
                    Trust me.
          I Love you!”
               Gorgonized beyond belief!
Yes YESHUA!!!
Splay the Night and fuzzle my heart!

At the Shop (NaPoWriMo #17)

At the Shop (NaPoWriMo #17)

Country tunes
     Background noise
Whine of the grinder
     Don’t make a wrong choice~
Stare at the Welder’s Light
     No-No! Sparks fly
Bluish white
     UPS Build-a-Box for you,
Three-inch Nerfset.
     Best way to build
Heavy Duty staple guns,
     Better join a guild.
Oh, at the shop today,
     Winch plates, truck mounts,
Sticky paper proper length
     For every little bit counts.
Lunch break Cuban sandwich
     Lay back real quick
Woodpecker overhead- oh no!
Sit up Line Street barbed wire fence
Build another box
     No mistakes double-time
Illusion mirages slow down
’Til five ‘hellos’ never a chime.

Saudade (NaPoWriMo #16)

Saudade (NaPoWriMo #17)
A melancholy cloud, a desire so loud!
     Saudade
Let me go back to where I felt alive!
Let me gaze upon the landscapes of Home
        For my heart Longs evermore
               My words fail to Capture
The depths of how I need you~
          Central America, East Africa,
               Southeast Asia, China and India
     Places I have traversed
               People’s silhouettes within my mind!
     Saudade for you! For me!
A time of what was, what will be,
                    The darkness grips me
I need to touch your shores!
Oh my love! Oh my heart!
       Left in every little crevice
                    Of the world I’ve seen
And the hearts of those I’ve met.
          Saudade! Saudade!!
Constant desire of what does not
     And may not ever Exist~
Oh my Child, I know thy heart,
               But come back to me,
                    Come back to the Present
So, we may make new memories~
               New Saudades Every Day.

Total Improvise (NaPoWriMo #15)

Total Improvise (NaPoWriMo #15)

Manufacture rollbar, heavy
Sons of guns, fingers ache tons and tons,
Down the street we run to your tight bevy
And wonder about ‘Golden Girl’ reruns.

Build a box, not a bear, surprise~
X-acto knife cuts, lay the sides down,
Out of the way, total improvise
To share the back for miles uptown.

One Pack (NaPoWriMo #14)

One Pack (NaPoWriMo #14)

Days Slip Away
     Sands of Time
          Hourglass Hands
And I watch the Sun’s descent
     Moon rises ~ Waxes Wans
          The Chill Crisp Air
     Electrifies my Soul
Howls of Ecstasy
          The hunt has begun
     For a new leader comes,
               An Alpha and Omega
          To unite us all
     Into One Pack
A Lethal Force to fight for Glory

Take a Notch Back (NaPoWriMo #13)

Take a Notch Back (NaPoWriMo #13)

Honesty policies hard pills to swallow,
Shake my head a new day to follow
Upon the stress and worry
With a gentle walk
To the Church on Center Street,
My Church, yes My Church!
A little job to be done~
Clear out a shed
For a new Freezer instead.
Odds and Ends to the trailer,
Old plywood too,
Paint cans in the truck bed
Old concrete broke, in too
Many pieces
A small shovel needed,
Yet still the sweep out
And blower to finish
Completes the job
In two hour time!
Sweat pores pour,
While a miracle opportunity
Comes to life
And I…
I get lost in wonder
Within the thoughts
To Take a Notch Back
From the Honesty Blues
On my walk from Magnolia to Center.

The Best Policy (NaPoWriMo #12)

The Best Policy (NaPoWriMo #12)

The Best Policy for all
Honesty, a drive to reinstall
And so I come before you to say,
“You claim you want peace,
Yet more war breaks out!
You cannot fight to bring peace,
What an oxymoron!
Sometimes I don’t understand
All now out of hand
With your fear propaganda
To take liberties away
And you say one thing,
Yet mean another
I don’t mean to be a bother.
I’m done.
I pray for you
And cry
For the cannon fodder
Of innocent lives all over the globe
Sent to their graves
Because you care more for your pockets
Than the abolishment
Of hunger and disease!
I could go on and on
And on and on,
Yet you would still turn
Your deaf ears to your own
Devices and we would
Still pay for your greed;
However, I’m done for now
Ciao.

Heart Exclamation (NaPoWriMo #11)

Heart Exclamation (NaPoWriMo #11)

Heart Exclamation~
A curious sound indeed,
Cessation to thee
For a moment of minutes
When vibrations strengthen us.

Oh Adoration~
A Father who Loves me, you
And upon our lives
He speaks articulation
From creation to creation.

So listen close, friend~
No matter the darkness, no fear,
No worry, none for
The God of Angel Armies
Gives your Heart Exclamation!

Hot Dog Juggler (NaPoWriMo #10)

Hot Dog Juggler (NaPoWriMo #10)

Blustery day
     Howls ‘o wind
With tunes all around
     Vendors set up to Blend~
Smiles, goods and food.
     Right out front
          A Hot Dog Juggler
All laughter and good cheer
          Tosses balls circular fashion
      Full of courage, No Fear!
Overcast skies, still a blast
          Eustis’ Street Fest
     The drums kick more
  A city’s Bright Tomorrows~Blessed!
          So, defend from hamburger smugglers
     And just keep on
          Dear Hot Dog Juggler.

The Love of an Uncle (NaPoWriMo #9)

The Love of an Uncle (NaPoWriMo #9)

The Love of an Uncle
For nieces and nephews~
A mystery to some
Yet filled with clues,
Upon the Joys of their laughter,
Their smiles full of Life and Hope.
Oh how we’d fight for each of them
Even down the most dangerous slope
For when we understand ourselves
We will long to protect them,
Our nieces and nephews,
Even if miles we must swim.
Yes, the Love of an Uncle
Sacred, True and good practice
For our future in Fatherhood
With every turn, every twist.
The Love of an Uncle,
A mysterious art for His heart
On how to Love every child
Through the rise of their height chart.

Yard Snail (NaPoWriMo #8)

Yard Snail (NaPoWriMo #8)

Monday afternoon trail,
     I run to nineteen
Heartbeat thumps, exhale
      Shin Splints unforeseen
All to shed sweat scales
     Within a time machine
Silky smooth drip with sweat
     Cause oxygen debt.

Now home to prevail
     Against the growth of hair
To plan epic sale
     Of no easy flair
And call it ‘Yard Snail’,
     Your place for a care
To buy and barter~
     Gone goes all, martyrs!

Farewell Self (NaPoWriMo #6)

Farewell Self (NaPoWriMo #6)

Many a moon and you took over,
Whiny, Needy
And I bought your lies,
But no more~
NO MORE!
Do you hear me?
Do you understand self?
I put my foot down
And declare,
“The days of your reign
End today!
I cannot live a lie,
I cannot live with my self
To death with you!
I have a life to live~
A life for my Creator
For others, family and friends,
For strangers every which way!
I can no longer live with you
Alone
With fear
I’m done.
I will not fight you any longer.
I Am Stronger!
Now, I know who I am
In Christ, in His Hands
And I will not go back
To you, selfish ways,
Nor will I sell fish
Don’t play games with my words!
Haha I see you
I do Love you self
For He encouraged such,
But I cannot live with you,
I cannot allow the distaste
So I paste you to the Cross
~Farewell self~
I will walk away free,
Yes, F.R.E.E!
I Love Papa too much,
Need the fresh air,
And now she fills my heart too,
So I will serve her!
Farewell self!
I’m on a New Adventure
In search of Love’s Treasures!”

Belong (NaPoWriMo #5)

Belong (NaPoWriMo #5)

Belong
To me My Love
For my Heart beats for you~
Undeniable, oh for Love
I Shout.

Belong
In the depths of
Me, my beloved, so Adored~
Inconceivable, I long for
Your Lips.

Belong
For the stars Shine
Upon our Breath of Love~
Of Passion, Always Forever
You, Me.

Belong
With Father’s Love
A smile upon us~
His Son and Daughter together
For Him.

Very Little Gravitas Indeed (NaPoWriMo #4)

Very Little Gravitas Indeed
Formality blues
Dispensational clues
An appearance of Oranges
To Apples
Grapples with Truth
Uncouth Ambience
From your Onslaught
Of awkward exigencies
Within your Liable liabilities
Along the shores of our hostilities~
Aye, very little Gravitas Indeed
To shun Apocalyptic Mead
And lay down our gunboat needs
To shout out Among trees
“Ahoy, Peace at last!
Peace at last!
Lay down your matches
Axes and more
For the wind chimes
Echo sentiments galore
Upon your Little Gravitas Shore!”

Mid-Shower (NaPoWriMo2013 #3)

Mid-Shower (NaPoWriMo #3)

A workout and run,
Then a little clean time fun;
Oh, how one sweats
And the heart bets
On the time to Breathe~
A garland, a wreathe,
So, the house still and quiet;
I pet the bird, just try it!
Now, onward to the shower
And smell better than a flower,
But wait Mid-Shower
And in slow-mo, no more power!
What the!? Creepy!
Even more quiet ~ the house sleepy!
The simple times to clean in the dark,
At least no worries of a shark.

Upside-Down (NaPoWriMo2013 #2)

Upside-Down (NaPoWriMo2013 #2)

Stained deck
          Laid back
     Upside-Down World
          Gaze up at the rafters
Breeze healthy of a sunset~
The Lake laps at wooden beams
          Gentle bulrushes Whistle
     And behind, Mossy Beards
               Wave Hello
          From their crowded Pines
All a vantage Upside-Down
For the soft beats of Peace
          Soothe the heart Rightside-Up

I Am NOT A Statistic!

I Am NOT A Statistic

Petty labels
          Stereotypes too
You house me in your boxes
          And I’m so through!
I Stand today to say:

     ”I Am NOT A Statistic!
          Not a number or theme
     For your category schemes!
          Thematic Names Scream
Scream to the lies of your words!
               I Am NOT A Statistic!
     Not 99 percent, 1 percent
                    Or any number in between!
Don’t even try to say I’m a number
     For I am a human, homo-sapien I stand,
TWO eyes, a nose, a mouth,
          Truth be told a FACE
               And where faces stand concerned
I shall NOT be categorized by you!
Statistics level insults on us all~
               Only 25 percent casualties?
     Only 43 percent burned?
               Only, only, just only!
          I LOATHE your systematic approach
     To label anyone and everyone
          By your “scientific” brooch!
You leave no room for the individual,
The uniqueness by which we all can attain
          Claim and name
But no, you want your power,
     Your greed of all things!
Well, I must burst your bubble,
                    For all over the world,
     I have met your “statistics”
Those you say rest more prone for poverty,
               Those more susceptible to disease
Or shipment to your Dark-funnels of greed!
Let me tell you what I saw~
I saw a father, no food in days,
Just so his children and wife could live;
I saw a mother give her life on the streets,
     Just so her baby boy could survive;
I saw children sacrifice their hearts,
          So younger ones could breathe;
I saw faces and dreams more powerful than the wind,
          Fight in horrid conditions
               To breathe another day!
I didn’t see your numbers and signs,
Nor your statistical overtures that bind!
     So, I must scream a good scream…

I AM NOT A STATISTIC!
And I Am DONE with your time!

Write a poem a day in April

April, known as National Poetry Writing Month and well for 2013 I shall take the leap into the unknown to write 30 (yes, THIRTY) poems in thirty days and post them on my blog!

So, to do such a feat, ‘Tuesday’s Tip Jar’ AND ‘Thursday’s Treasures’ will take a break for the month of April. Also, I do not get on my computer at all on Sundays; however, I am still online a little past Midnight every Saturday, in which case I will post each Sunday poem super early for NaPoWriMo.

I look forward to the challenge, especially with all of the possibilities on the way, i.e. visit with my Lady and the possible departure to teach English in South Korea.

With all of this said, tomorrow starts April and the FUN of NaPoWriMo!

Maybe you will take the challenge with me and write a poem everyday for a month? Eh? You know you want to! ;-)

     Blessings to you all! Cheers!

Oh, and Happy Resurrection Day! The Tomb lies empty and the King of Kings walks ALIVE!!

Risen Hearts

Risen Hearts

(for Kendra Christine)

A shallow pool
Along the Timberland,
A brim of Life
Ethereal Grand
Upon every Sunrise,
His Daughter
Stands Tall
A Princess saved from the Fall
A Queen of Love
A Woman for Him Above~
She Breathes Life
To everyone,
The cashier at the store,
The homeless man on the corner,
The little girl, scraped knee,
Or every foreigner, mourner!
A heart for the broken
She stands in the Gap
And breathes life
To all the Risen Hearts!

Simple Beauty

Simple Beauty

(for Anna Haas)

Simple Beauty~
     A heart so true,
          North turns to you
     Love so pure,
          They made a brochure!
Simple Beauty~
     Eyes of blue,
               Radiant Clues
     Into Papa’s  Splendid heart,
          A thumb-strum start.
Oh, how a Woman of God
     Can radiate Love
          In every breath
                    Look, Smile, and Awhile
He get lost within such Simple,
               Yet such profound Beauty.

Sudden Spoon

Sudden Spoon ~ not a spoon all of a sudden in front of you. ;-)

No, seriously, today’s ‘Thursday’s Treasure’ highlights a blog of graduates of the Modern & Contemporary American Poetry (ModPo) class on Coursera.org.

Sudden Spoon ~ a blog of writers to do collaborative close readings of poems found somewhere on the Internet. Close readings delve into poems line-by-line to figure out the heart of the words and their meanings.

You can join these folks over at Sudden Spoon and get involved with some close readings as well!

Thank you all for your readership!!

Arc of Radiance

Arc of Radiance

(for Noah Friesen)

Through alleyways and byways,
Through streets and canals,
A Man Treks the Seas
of long-gone tales
To share a Heart
Full of Beats~
Beats for you, Beats for me.
Yes, a Man’s Arc of Radiance
Shines forevermore
Because
of a Father’s
Sacrifice
For You and For Me.
Now, He goes
Goes to those all around him
To Shower them
With a New Way of Life,
A Life of Love…
of Grace…
of Hope…
of Freedom…
of Kingdom…
Oh, how such a man
Utilizes the Messiah’s
Arc of Radiance
For Good and Brilliance.
