Guard Your Heart
They say you should guard your heart,
But what does such a task entail?
How do you shield your heart
From vibrations of love’s cosmic trails?
For Christ went to the cross
To deal Death a final blow,
And every step He felt the sting
Of Love’s cost for freedom’s flow.
So, should I not let freedom ring?
Should I not let Love drip through rain
And wash away the tears of remorse,
Or banish away the cloud’s sinful stain?
Freedom reigns for freedom’s sake,
For Christ died and rose to unlock cells,
So I will love and love some more,
If to do so rings freedom’s bells!
All the while, I know Truth,
I must hold my Shield of Faith
Forward march, advance the ranks,
As no matter what we fight shadow wraith.
Forgotten times when shield held low,
A sudden shock, a slow start,
And taken off-guard to lose a fight,
But now He and I guard my heart.
